Mr Germanos added: “Rated #1 by MoneySavingExpert for cash back, perks and regular savings, Biscuit is the UK’s best free current account for everyday value, offering up to £192 a year through a mix of interest and cash back.
“It can be opened in minutes through Zopa’s streamlined digital onboarding, with instant virtual cards giving immediate access to account features.”
Zopa’s offering tops Moneyfacts’ best rates, regular savings account list, which at the time of writing totals 65 products.
First Direct follows Zopa, with 7.00% AER for a 12 month bond. Interest is paid on maturity and the account can be managed online and on a mobile.
The Co-operative Bank is offering the same rate on its Regular Saver Issue 1, 12 month bond account, which can be opened and managed in branches or online.
Nationwide offers 6.5% on its Regular Saver Issue 7 account while Hanley Economic Building Society’s 1 Year Branch Smart Saver has a rate of 6.30%, according to Moneyfacts.

Megan Notley from Moneyfacts said this week has seen rises to leading fixed bond rates, including those offered by MBNA and Close Brothers Savings.
She said Tandem Bank’s 3 Year Fixed Saver pays 4.56%, placing the account competitively on Moneyfacts’ three-year chart.
Ms Notley said it also qualifies as a green product because by opening an account, you support Tandem Bank’s green lending initiatives.
The expert added: “Tandem Bank also offers an attractive two-year fix for those wanting a slightly shorter term.”
Other easy access accounts with competitive rates include Tembo’s HomeSaver (4.75% AER), Chase’s Saver account (4.50% AER) and DF Capital’s Easy Access Account (Issue 7), which offers a rate of 4.25% AER.
