Zara and Mike Tindall celebrate 14 years of marriage today – pictures | Royal | News
Zara and Mike Tindall are celebrating 14th years of marriage today, with the couple having tied the knot on this day in 2011. Their nuptials took place in Edinburgh at the Canongate Kirk – just three months after Prince William married Princess Kate in London.
Unlike the weddings of their cousins, Zara and Mike’s special day was not televised – making it a decidedly more low-key affair for the royals. Zara and Mike, who first met in 2003, are known for their frequent public displays of affection – with one body language expert previously saying that they often look more in love than ever. The couple have since welcomed three children together – Mia, 11, Lena, seven, and four-year-old Lucas.
Here, the Express looks at nine memorable pictures of the couple as they celebrate their wedding anniversary today.
Zara and Mike, pictured here in July 2005, first met in Australia during the 2003 Rugby World Cup. The young royal, then aged 22, was on her gap year at the time, and travelling down under with friends, while the rugby player had been called up to the England squad for the tournament. Speaking to the Daily Mail in 2011, Mike revealed how the pair had been in the same bar – although added that we “didn’t speak that much”.

After seven years of dating, and seven months after announcing their engagement, the couple tied the knot in Scotland. Renowned for their love of partying, Zara and Mike wed in a smaller, more intimate ceremony before enjoying a lively reception at the Queen’s official Scottish residence of the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Speaking of their special day, a royal source said at the time: “It was just a family knees-up. Your archetypal wedding, really. Except with a lot of royals and rugby players. And a lot of drinking. In fact make that a hell of a lot of drinking.”
