Anyone with an iPhone 11 or newer nestled in their pocket can head to the Settings app today and find a brand new software update ready to install. Apple has released iOS 26.3, the latest version of the iPhone’s software, which introduces a few subtle upgrades.

Apple launched iOS 26, the successor to iOS 18 that switched the numbering system to match the year 2026, back in September 2025 alongside the iPhone 17 range. The tech giant has pushed several updates since then, adding bug fixes and security updates to the operating system that introduced a new Liquid Glass design to iPhones.

According to its official release notes, Apple has fixed 39 bugs and flaws in iOS, including one that it warns “may have been exploited in an extremely sophisticated attack against specific targeted individuals on versions of iOS before iOS 26.”

When you go to Settings > General > Software Update, Apple notes that iOS 26.3 “provides important bug fixes and security updates” for your iPhone.

It’s always a good idea to update your iPhone with the latest software to make sure you aren’t ever at risk of hacks or weird bugs in the system that could stop things from working.

But it’s not just security fixes Apple has added for you in iOS 26.3, though the firm itself does not actually list some of the updates. According to MacRumors, this new version of iOS also includes a new transfer tool that is designed to make it easier to switch to an Android phone.

The wireless transfer process lets you move over photos, messages, notes and more, and doesn’t require the Android phone to download a separate app, which makes things much easier.

There is also a new Weather section in the Lock Screen options that shows new Weather wallpapers with different fonts and pre-selected weather widgets, if you want your iPhone to be your go-to forecast machine at all times.

There’s now also a setting to limit carrier location tracking, which stops your mobile network provider logging your precise location, though it only works with iPhones with Apple’s C1 and C1X modems, which are only in the iPhone 16e and iPhone Air.
