‘Worlds best airline’ flies to 170 destinations and 90 countries | Travel News | Travel

Qatar Airways has picked up the tag as the ‘best airline in the world’ for a ninth time after scooping prizes at London’s Business Traveller Awards. The Middle Eastern airline has now secured the prize nine times over the past 15 years after wins in 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2024.

Qatar Airways’ planes also secured the ‘Best Business Class in the World’ and ‘Best Economy Class in the World’ tags at the glitzy ceremony. Qatar also picked up prizes for the ‘Best Frequent Flyer Programme in the World’, ‘Best Airline Lounge in the World’ (Al Mourjan Lounges, DOH) and ‘Best Airline Between Europe and the Middle East’.

Judges praised the model offering an “exceptional in-flight service” as well as a series of latest innovations such as “free Starlink Wi-Fi”. They said the company was a “pioneer of world-class travel”, which made Qatar Airways a “truly deserving winner”.

Qatar Airways, based at the Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha, now flies to a whopping 90 countries and 170 destinations globally. Flights are truly global, serving destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas, and the Middle East.

The company’s most popular route is the Doha to London Heathrow route, with up to 10 daily flights. The Doha to Abu Dhabi connection is also well-supported, with over 160 flights operating in one month earlier this year.

Doha to Dubai is also a popular route with 155 trips scheduled over one month, and flights to Saudi Arabian cities such as Jeddah and Riyadh are also well supported.

Passengers on TripAdvisor have generally praised the airline, with many passengers posting about their positive experiences on board Qatar planes.

@Rozana & Tiny said: “Qatar is the airline, even compared to other major long-haul airlines, where we were most frequently provided with food, snacks, and drinks. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and perfectly styled.”
