A 95-year-old woman was tied up and threatened during an attempted robbery by a man who offered to clean her windows, police have said. Greater Manchester Police said officers responded at around 11am on Tuesday to reports that a woman had cash demanded from her at an address on Belcroft Drive in Little Hulton.

It is believed that a man entered the property after offering to clean the woman’s windows before tying her hands together. He then demanded the woman’s cash and purse, police said. The man was disrupted when another woman who knew the victim arrived at the house, where she was grabbed, before the man fled.
