Virgin Media is dishing out a free TV channel upgrade and it’s coming this week


There’s good news for all Virgin Media TV users with the firm announcing a big free boost this week. During the month of December, telly subscribers are being offered the chance to tune into Virgin’s Ultra HD channel (175) without paying a penny extra. The service, which is broadcast in pin-sharp 4K, offers must-see documentaries and blockbuster movies.

“Customers can access channel 175 and 999 in UHD for an entire month, which will showcase family films every afternoon, as well as a variety of documentaries from 8pm and prime time films from 9pm daily, so there’s something for everyone,“ Virgin confirmed.

Things that will be available to view over the festive period include Hook, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Hacksaw Ridge, Billy and Dom Eat the World and many more.

The offer goes live on December 1 and will run until January 6.

Speaking about the update, David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, said: “For so many of our customers this time of the year is all about coming together and spending quality time with loved ones. So, Virgin TV is gifting them the opportunity to unwind and watch their favourite films and shows together in UHD, at no extra cost this festive season.”

This update isn’t all. To help customers get into the festive spirit, Virgin is also offering a dedicated channel – Great! Christmas (Chn 424) – to watch one of the biggest collections of festive films available until 6 January.
