UK weather LIVE: Chaos arrives in Britain 82mph winds hit and plane crash lands | Weather | News

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for ice, in effect from 9pm Sunday until 10am Monday, as temperatures plunge across parts of the UK.

The warning applies to regions in Scotland, including Central, Tayside & Fife, Grampian, and the Highlands & Eilean Siar, where untreated roads, pavements, and cycle paths are expected to become treacherous.

Showers earlier in the evening will give way to clear skies and dropping temperatures, creating icy patches that pose risks for travel and pedestrians.

The Met Office cautions against slips, falls, and travel disruptions, urging people to plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys.

Travelers are advised to use main roads, which are more likely to have been treated, and to monitor forecasts as conditions evolve. The warning, though moderate, highlights the potential for localized disruption as winter weather continues to grip the nation.
