Two Brits arrested over ‘attempted kidnap’ on street in Majorca | World | News
Two British nationals have been arrested over an alleged attempted kidnap on a busy street in a holiday resort. The pair were arrested after an alleged incident occurring in of the holiday hotspots most beloved by UK tourists – Majorca.
The alleged incident, police said, happened at 12pm GMT (1pm local time) on Sunday, March 15, in the Son Ferriol neighbourhood of Palma, the Balearic Island’s capital. A spokesman for the National Police in Majorca said on Monday: “I can confirm a British couple have been arrested and are currently being held in custody over an incident that occurred around 1pm yesterday in the Palma neighbourhood of Son Ferriol.
“They are middle-aged, aged between 40 and 45.
“The woman targeted is in her early sixties. She was taken to hospital but had only minor injuries and was discharged shortly afterwards.”
Police said enquiries remain ongoing.
The spokesman added: “We are still investigating what happened and hope to be in a position to release more information later.”
