TUI announces flights to 3 new destinations in major summer expansion | Travel News | Travel

TUI has announced flights to three brand new destinations in a major expansion to its summer programme at Cardiff Airport.

The travel company has confirmed its new flight routes will launch from summer 2026 thanks to a fourth aircraft being based at the airport, giving customers a greater choice of holiday destinations to choose from. The new routes include Hurghada in Egypt, Faro in Portugal, and Fuerteventura in Spain’s Canary Islands.

Flights from Cardiff to Hurghada, a beach resort town which stretches along Egypt’s Red Sea coast, will launch on May 2, 2026, while flights from Cardiff to Faro will launch shortly after on May 21, 2026, to take customers to the golden sands along Portugal’s stunning coastline.

Flights from Cardiff to Fuerteventura will be the third new route for summer 2026 but TUI has said flights will launch from the winter season this year, starting on December 20, 2025.

In addition to the three new routes, TUI is increasing its flight frequency to some of its most popular summer destinations, including Antalya, Gran Canaria, Palma de Mallorca, Enfidha and Tenerife.

The Antalya route will see an extra flight each week, increasing from three flights to four flights per week, and flights to Gran Canaria will increase from once to twice weekly.

The Cardiff to Palma De Mallorca route will be increased from five flights per week to six, Enfidha will get an extra weekly flight taking it from two to three flights per week, and customers will be able to choose from an additional flight to Tenerife each week, with four weekly flights.

TUI UK&I Commercial Director Chris Logan said: “We’re really excited to be expanding our routes and flying frequency from Cardiff Airport to give our customers even more choice and flexibility.

“With exclusive new routes and additional flights to some of the most popular holiday destinations, we’re making it even easier for travellers to visit new places from their local airport.

“We’ve seen the demand for destinations such as Turkey, Tenerife and Mallorca grow year on year, so this increase in capacity allows customers to explore more options when booking their holiday.”
