Donald Trump’s approval ratings have dropped to an all-time low, a new poll shows, as Americans seemingly turn on the President following his Iran strikes. The poll, conducted by Dailu Mail, indicates that the President’s approval rating has dropped to 44 percent, a fall of four points since Friday and the lowest figure recorded since the publication’s tracking so far.

The decline appears to coincide with rising public anxiety over the escalating conflict in the Middle East, particularly after the deaths of six American service members. According to the poll, only 24 percent of voters said they believe that targeting Iran’s Supreme Leader would make the US safer, while 55 percent feel that recent American strikes on Iran have actually increased the likelihood of terror attacks on US soil.

In addition, 40 percent of voters report that their opinion of President Trump has grown more negative over the past week, compared with 26 percent who say their view has improved.

One of the respondents said:”My view of Trump has become more negative because he has just started a war when he said he wasn’t going to.”

Another said: “I’m not sure that the decision of war which he has taken is a good thing. I hate wars in general.”

The ratings come days after the US and Israel carried out a joint strike on Iran, killing their supreme leader Ali Khamenei. Iran retilated the strikes and since then several middle eastern countries have been impacted with many people stranded due to flight suspension.

The data shows that 59 percent of respondents who now view President Trump more negatively say the primary reason is the ongoing conflict with Iran.

One participant put it bluntly: “Prices are too high, and now he has started a war.” At the same time, everyday costs are rising; for example, US regular gasoline reached $3.11 per gallon on Tuesday, up from just under $3 at the start of the week, according to the American Automobile Association.

Many respondents expressed frustration that the President had once promised to be a “peace President,” yet they now perceive the country as being drawn into multiple conflicts in a short span of time.

One voter wrote, “He said he would be the peace President. Two wars in a few weeks?” Others focused on what they saw as unclear decision‑making and a lack of a coherent strategy, with one person arguing that “striking Iran without approval [is] creating a war.”
