Tommy Fleetwood drops hint after long-standing relationship ends | Golf | Sport

Tommy Fleetwood has suggested he may soon reveal a new sponsorship deal, just weeks after confirming his contract with Nike had come to an end. Fleetwood’s brand agreement ran out in late 2025 and he confirmed in February that it wouldn’t be renewed. “Our contract was ending and it just turned out like we sort of didn’t end up in a place where I’m wearing Nike stuff this year,” Fleetwood shared during an appearance at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. “Who knows what’s going to happen in the future. But this is cool.

“I don’t know, I feel like I’m a big golf fan. I really like golf stuff, so it’s quite nice to be wearing Pebble Beach clothing,” he added. “I mean, my kids would absolutely love this stuff so I feel pretty lucky to have it on.” At the time, the Southport-born star indicated he wasn’t in a hurry to enter into a new partnership. That hasn’t quelled speculation, however, and now it seems the wait could be almost over.

Fleetwood prompted speculation over a new deal when he shared a brief video on Instagram. The clip, which shows signs of being apparel-related, is captioned: ‘Something new coming…stay tuned!’.

Not everyone was ready for a big change. “Oh no, I like free agent Tommy” one commented, while another suggested jokingly that the star should play in “Full Everton kit” as a tribute to the football team he supports.

Away from the jokes, there has been speculation about the attire Fleetwood will sport once a further announcement is made. Some have tipped him to confirm a deal with with Lululemon or Sun Day Red after being spotted wearing those brands’ clothing, while others have even speculated that he might be launching his own golf clothing line.

In February, LIV Golf player Ben An wondered aloud – in jest – whether Fleetwood might want to don the apparel of his Korean Golf Club team. An, 34, joined LIV in January.

“Looks like Tommy Fleetwood is a free agent on clothing. Let me know if you want some Korean Golf Club clothes,” the Seoul-born star posted on social media. “Happy to send you some. Relax, people, it’s a joke… maybe.”

Fleetwood slipped from third to fourth in the world rankings after Cam Young clinched The Players Championship to surpass him. However, he already boasts three top-10 finishes in PGA Tour events this year and tied for 8th at TPC Sawgrass.

The 35-year-old bagged a massive $10m (£7.5m) prize for his victory at the Tour Championship last year. Despite a number of prior DP World Tour wins, it was also his first ever PGA Tour win despite racking up millions in career earnings up to that point.

“When you’ve lost so many times, a three-shot lead down the last doesn’t feel like that many,” he said after the triumph. “[The fans] are amazing, it makes me a bit emotional. I’m so lucky with the support I get – it’s so special and I hope everyone knows how grateful I am for it.”
