After weeks of searching the property, of the FBI have released Nancy’s home to the family and is no longer considered a crime scene. This marks the second time the property has been returned to the family since her disappearance.

During the latest episode of NBC Nightly News, a source said investigators no longer feel the need to seal the home off as a crime scene or restrict the family’s access.

An analyst shared the home’s return to the family marks an “end of the line.”

“The main significance of handing the house back is that it is going to end the ability to collect evidence,” the source explained.

“Any evidence that they would collect any defense attorney would say ‘This could be contaminated. This could have been planted.’”

“This is the end of the line as far as collecting evidence goes,” the analyst concluded.

Concern first grew when Nancy failed to attend her local Mass on Sunday, February 1. Shortly after, the Pima County Sheriff’s office deemed her home a “crime scene” after discovering concerning evidence inside the property.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said: “We do believe that Nancy was taken from her home against her will, and that’s where we’re at.”

Savannah also announced her family is offered a reward of up to $1 million for the recovery of her mother.

The host has been absent from the Today show since Monday, February 2. She has been in Arizona assisting authorities in their search for her mother.
