The incredible country loved by Brits that’s giving away free flights | Travel News | Travel

One of Asia’s most exciting visitor destinations is offering free flights for tourists in a bid to get them to explore more of the country. Asia is a popular continent for British tourists to explore, from the beaches of Vietnam and the islands of Thailand to the vibrant cultures of India and Sri Lanka. But there is another country that Brits will want to consider visiting, as free flights are on offer.

Japan is one of the most pined-after countries among tourists from across the globe. Between its fascinating history, delicious food, ultra-modern megacities and unique culture. One Japanese airline, in collaboration with the tourism board of Japan, is offering free domestic flights to tourists coming to the country from the UK and Europe. Tourism officials hope that their offer will help move visitors to more underrated destinations in Japan, as opposed to some of the more popular places like Tokyo and Kyoto.

All Nippon Airways (ANA) will offer complimentary flights to tourists who are already travelling to Japan. The offer is currently taking place until January 31, 2026, with no plans as of now to extend it further or bring it back at another time of the year.

ANA flies to more than 40 airports across Japan, and the offer is on the table for flights between all of them. The airline hopes that the offer makes regional exploration of Japan “easier and genuinely affordable”.

There are a few conditions attached to the offer. Firstly, you will be flying in an economy seat. Plus, you will need to pay for your flight to Japan. But the offer allows you to travel around the country once you are there.

Travel within Japan is quite accessible, and the country has several high-speed trains that connect its major cities. For example, there is the Shinkansen “bullet train” that connects Tokyo and Osaka. Although it spans a distance of almost 250 miles, it can take under three hours.

However, air travel is still often faster. With the new offer, it is also considerably cheaper. Although your airfare would be free, you might still have to pay taxes and visa charges.

The most popular cities to visit in Japan include Tokyo, which is its capital, as well as Osaka and Kyoto. These places swell with tourists and the massive local population.

However, there are parts of Japan that are rather underexplored. Prime examples of this include Kanazawa, which fascinates visitors with its samurai district.

There are also areas like the Shizuoka Prefecture, Kakunodate and Yudanakashibu Onsenkyo. Japan is home to impressively large cities, but there is also some lovely countryside dotted around the country.

People often don’t consider Japan a go-to sun holiday destination, but the country actually has some incredible beaches. Some stunning ones are Yonaha Maehama Beach, Kondoi Beach and Aharen Beach.
