The beautiful little village in the Cotswolds that’s even better in winter | Travel News | Travel

Deep in the Cotswolds, there’s a pretty village that’s often overlooked. In winter, it’s the perfect festive place to visit and some say it’s actually better to visit in the colder months.

If you’re looking for a postcard-perfect spot to enjoy a day trip or a staycation this winter, look no further than Broadway.

Known for its beautiful cottage houses, quaint feel and cosy atmosphere, this quiet town is an iconic place to visit.

The Broadway Hotel says: “Broadway, the ‘Jewel of the Cotswolds’, is indeed better in winter.

“The village’s charm is enhanced by the snow-laden landscapes, making it an irresistible destination for a winter break.

“Visitors can enjoy short walks along country lanes, log fires in welcoming pubs, and explore the independent shops and galleries along the High Street.

“The village’s historic buildings and the breathtaking views from Broadway Tower are just a few highlights of what makes Broadway a winter wonderland.”

While you’re there, you can wander along its high street and stop for a warm drink or a bite to eat in one of its cosy cafes or restaurants.

On Tripadvisor, one person said the high street “oozes Cotswold charm”.

The person adds that the historic buildings and “honey-coloured houses” with thatched roofs add to the look of the village.

At Christmas, the village gets into the spirit of the festive period by hosting many Christmas events and late night shopping.

It is transformed every year into a “winter wonderland” as the red chestnut trees that line the high street are illuminated by traditional fairy lights, says Visit Broadway.

You won’t want to miss out on a trip to this magical part of the country this November or December.

You’ll be able to relax and unwind in Broadway while getting into the festive spirit.
