Bucharest in Romania is known for being home to Europe’s biggest spa – and it’s a great city to visit for a weekend away while also being affordable.

According to Luxury Lifestyle Magazine, it features 37,000 square-metres of wellness, leisure and spa space.
With over 800,000 plants, 1,500 palm trees and the largest urban beach in Europe, the facility brings in over one million tourists each year.
One visitor on Tripadvisor said: “This is a large spa with three separate areas for different kinds of experiences – it is well worth the price of admission.
“I recommend the all day all access pass as the freedom to pass through each area is very convenient. Staff are very helpful and quick to resolve any issues that arise.
“It is located a 20 minute drive from Bucharest, this is a great place to escape from the hustle of the city. Highly recommended.”
Bucharest is the capital of Romania making it a popular tourist destination but those planning to visit the area often try to visit Transylvania too which is just over five hours away by car.
In the capital, there are a range of museums to see or you can stroll around the impressive parks the city has to offer.
Another popular place to visit in Bucharest is Stavropoleos Monastery, built in 1724, this beautiful church is one of Bucharest’s oldest.

“The church is small but amazingly beautiful with its painted walls with icons. The ceiling itself is worth looking at for a long period of time. Entry is free and I really appreciated the quiet.”
