Indian Wells is into it’s second day as players look to progress in one of the biggest tournaments of the year outside of the four Grand Slams.
The biggest names in tennis are involved, with many given byes to the second round, it means that they won’t be in action until later in the week. Defending champion Jack Draper is among those in action on Friday in the second round, with his opponent yet to be determined.
Fellow Brits Jacob Fearnley, Sonay Kartal and Francesca Jones are all in first round action today (Thursday) as they look to book their place in the second round.
Ahead of Carlos Alcaraz‘s involvement in the tournament, there has been another twist around his split from long-term coach Juan Carlos Ferrero three months ago. The coach has now spoken about the split.
Italian player Lucrezia Stefanini, who lost in the qualifiying round on Wednesday, has also confirmed that she had to beef up her own personal security after receiving death threats ahead of the match.
