His body was discovered in the Blue Mountains, just 60km from Sydney, on Thursday, 29 January by police after a rescue helicopter joined the search operation, reports The Mirror.

He had set off on the camping trip on Tuesday, 27 January with his friend, aged 17.

The pair travelled to Leura Train Station before making their way on foot to Mt Hay, according to officers attached to Blue Mountains Police Area Command.
