A teenager has been found dead at the prestigious Eton College, which was previously attended by both Prince William and Prince Harry. The teenager, whose identity has not been shared publicly, was found dead at about 8.30am on the morning of February 27, it has been reported.

Described as “unexplained but non-suspicious”, authorities have added that a file on the incident will be prepared for the coroner, as reported by both The Standard and The Daily Mail. A statement by Thames Valley Police said: “His next of kin are aware and we have offered them our support at this difficult time.”

It also reads: “We would ask that their privacy is respected at what is an extremely difficult time for them.”

The teenager’s exact age at the time of his death remains unknown, as well as whether his body was found at his dorm room or at another location on the college campus.

The school’s official website describes boarding houses as “caring communities that put kindness and empathy at the heart of their ethos”.

An Eton College spokesperson have also released a statement to PEOPLE. It read: “It is with the greatest sadness that Eton College can confirm that one of our boys has died while at school.”

“Our priority is to support his family and respect their privacy, as well as to support his friends and the wider school community and therefore we will be making no further statement at this time.”
