The body of a man has tragically been found in a popular park in the North East. A large police cordon was put in place after emergency services rushed to Roker Park in Sunderland after receiving a report of concern for the welfare of a man.

North East Ambulance and Northumbria Police attended the scene, and a large section of the park was taped off by officers. The significant police cordon remains in place, but some sections of the park are still open to the public. Northumbria Police have released a statement confirming the discovery of the man’s body.
