Sarah Ferguson ‘supported’ by ‘rich and powerful friends’ amid scandal | Royal | News
Sarah Ferguson has got “rich and powerful” friends that will help her in her time of need, a royal commentator has claimed. The former Duchess of Edinburgh has found herself with no royal titles, no career and no home, following her humiliating fall from grace due to her friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Fergie has vanished from the public eye since new details began to emerge near the end of last year, just before the King axed her title and forced her to move out of Royal Lodge, along with her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The last time Fergie was seen in public was in December 2025, when she attended the private christening of her granddaughter, Athena Mapelli Mozzi, at St James’s Palace in London.
Fergie’s humiliation carried on through the new year and peaked earlier this month when the US Department of Justice released a new tranche of documents relating to the convicted sex offender, many of which mentioned the former duchess.
Now a royal expert said she may have fled the UK to find refuge at the homes of her many wealthy friends around the world.
Royal commentator Ingrid Seward told the Mirror: “Nobody knows where she is at this moment, I mean she could be anywhere, she could be in Dummer with her stepmother, or she could be abroad.
“She’s got some rich and powerful friends who probably will stick by her, because we know rich and powerful people like drama, and this is a great drama, isn’t it?”
Ms Seward said Fergie could be hoping to make a comeback when the scandal calms down.

She said: “She has a massively endearing type of personality.
“t’s a tragedy that her bad side has got the stronger hold over her than her good side.
“So the bad side is the greed, the stupidity and obsessively wanting things. She desperately, desperately wants to be liked.”
