Millions of Galaxy phone owners are set to receive a useful bonus next month. Samsung has just confirmed that it is expanding access to its One UI 8.5 beta programme, meaning those using certain devices will get early access to a swathe of new features and bonus upgrades.

“Open to all users, the One UI Beta Program is an opportunity to try One UI features before their official release,” Samsung explained.

Until now, this service was only avaiable on brand new phones such as the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S25 series. However, that list has now grown to include some older gadgets as well.

“Samsung is expanding the One UI 8.5 beta programme to additional Galaxy devices,” the Korean firm announced in an update.

“Introduced with the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, the One UI 8.5 beta programme is now available to more devices including Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy Tab S11 in select markets including UK, India, Korea and the U.S.”

Samsung also says the beta programme will extend to more Galaxy devices in April, with users able to register via the Samsung Members app.

So how do you sign up?

Joining is simple. First, download the Samsung Members app from the Galaxy Store or the Google Play Store. Log in with your Samsung Account, and enter and participate in the “Beta Program” space through the home banner or the Beta Card.

Once the beta update is available, you can install it by going to Settings > Software update and tapping Download and install. After the download is complete, tap Install now to begin the installation process. The device will restart during installation.

It’s worth noting that this is pre-released software, so it could have bugs and issues while the testing takes place. However, it will also mean you get to play with all the latest features long before they are released to the masses.
