Ryanair’s huge seat sale with £25 January flights to Canary Islands | Europe | Travel
Budget airline Ryanair has announced what it describes as its ‘biggest ever seat sale’, offering 10 million fares at discounted rates. The sale features a huge number of summer deals, but for those who can’t wait until then, there are also lots of cheap fares to winter sun destinations.
You can currently book flights to the Canary Islands for under £25 one-way, just in time for the new year, which is set to bring freezing temperatures to the UK. However, the islands will be basking in highs of up to 22C thanks to the area’s microclimate, with several hours of sunshine to soak up each day. Here are some of the cheap fares available.
Tenerife
Tenerife is usually the warmest Canary Island in January, and Ryanair operates flights to Tenerife South from several UK airports. The southern part of the island tends to be warmer than the north.
There are £24.99 one-way fares from London Stansted to Tenerife South available on various dates in January, with midweek flights being slightly cheaper, but weekend fares only a few pounds more, reports the Mirror. In the south of the island, popular resorts such as Costa Adeje offer a vibrant mix of bars, restaurants, and shops. It also boasts golden sand beaches like Playa del Duque, where you can soak up to seven hours of sunshine a day in January.
However, it’s not just London airports that are offering these bargain fares; Liverpool and Manchester also have deals starting at £24.99, while flights from Edinburgh to Tenerife begin at £25.99 one-way. With flight times from London airports starting at four hours 30 minutes, you could be basking in the sun before you know it.
Gran Canaria
Gran Canaria, another popular destination with a climate similar to Tenerife, is expected to reach around 20C in January, despite some stormy weather early in next week. There are plenty of deals available from both London and regional airports, with budget-friendly flights throughout January.
Bristol to Gran Canaria flights are currently priced from £25.81 one way, while departures from London Luton Airport start at just £24.99.
Lanzarote
Lanzarote, a favourite among winter sun chasers, is forecast to reach daytime highs of 21C next week. If you’re craving some sunshine, there are £24.99 one-way fares available from London Stansted, Bournemouth, Manchester, and other regional airports.
The south and east coasts of Lanzarote are particularly popular, largely due to their close proximity to the airport and milder weather. Playa Blanca is an excellent choice for a January stay, boasting a long sandy beach with typically calm seas, a high-end marina area with restaurants, and a shopping centre.
Fuerteventura
Fuerteventura, the least visited out of the major Canary Islands, boasts the same natural allure as its more popular counterparts. With temperatures reaching up to 20C in early January and six to seven hours of sunshine daily, it’s a winter sun-seeker’s paradise.
One-way flights from London Stansted are available on various dates for as little as £24.99, while fares from Newcastle start at £25.99 and Leeds Bradford from £32. Fuerteventura’s arid landscape is flatter than the other Canary Islands, featuring stunning desert landscapes. As the second-largest island in the Canaries, it’s known for its pristine white sand beaches, expansive national parks, and the bustling former fishing village of Corralejo.
From here, you can set sail on boat trips to nearby islands or enjoy a day of snorkelling. Please note that prices are subject to availability and may vary.
