Ruth Langsford uses this Charlotte Tilbury product to look more awake
Ruth Langsford gave fans a glimpse at her quick makeover and showed how one product made her look younger. The TV presenter, who also works as a fashion designer at QVC, used a Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadow palette to elevate her everyday look for a special occasion.
She used the Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette in shade ‘The Golden Goddess’, which is priced at £46 and comes with four golden and bronze shades in satin-matte, shimmer and metallic finishes. Describing the colours as “very me”, Ruth showed fans how she applied them in a few swipes as she got ready to head out.
“So this is just my daytime kind of makeup,” Ruth told fans. “But if i’m going outside, I’d like to add a little bit of eyeshadow and I’ve got the Charlotte Tilbury Golden Goddess palette – those are very me.”
She took a makeup brush and dabbed a bit of the ‘Smoke’ shade to her eyelid, saying: “Very lightly, I sweep that [over my eyelids]. I don’t go right up to my eyebrows. Remember the days when we used to put that really tiny highlighter?
“And then, a smaller brush and I’m going to go in [the same shade] again. And just go right in that crease and put it under your brow bone there, and then kind of into the corner.”
The second swipe added depth to Ruth’s eyes for a more sculpted look. To help reduce the look of tiredness and hooded lids, cream eyeshadow formulas or shimmers with a soft and satin finish work better than heavy, matte powders. Applying eyeshadow higher in the crease also works to brighten and open the eye.
Ruth continued: “Then that little stubby end of the brush – I’m going in for this lovely goldy, shimmer. And then finally I would go in with my lovely Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray. So that’s me, feeling fabulous ready, to go for lunch in the bright pink jacket.”
The Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette has multi-reflecting pearls for sparkle and glossy ester to add luminosity and a soft, silky feel. It also contains coated pigments for a creamy, intense colour pay off and a 3D matte effect.
The matte ‘Smoke’ shade that Ruth used combines deep intensity with extreme softness. Finely milled for a velvety, liquid-like sensorial, it blends beautifully for a sultry contour.
For a muted tone, shoppers can try Vieve’s Soul Shadows and shade Terra is packed with a range of modern mattes that are perfect for both everyday looks and experimentation. It’s stocked at SpaceNK for £29.
Lisa Eldridge’s Muse Eyeshadow Palette is a curation of six harmonious and complementary eyeshadows in high-performance, easy-to-blend formulas. Priced at £49, shoppers can find different tones of pink in the Muse palette.
Fans loved Ruth’s recommendation and said they’re happy to try the Charlotte Tilbury palette. One responded: “Thanks for the tips Ruth. Those are exactly the colours I like to wear. Up until a few years ago I was still stuck in the 70s eye makeup, wearing blue and grey eyeshadows for my blue eyes.
“But then I went for a makeover photo shoot and the makeup artist used the neutral colours on me and totally changed the way I looked. They told me the browns and neutrals would make my blue eyes pop. Ive never looked back. That looks like a great palette.”
A second added: “You look beautiful Ruth and those colours are pretty.” But another struggled to follow the steps, sharing: “Love your tutorials Ruth, rollers and all. I just wish I ended up looking like you after your tutorial, where in earth am I going wrong, I end up looking like a clown.”
