However, the Roman trousers have plenty of fans. One shopper said: “Love, love, love these trousers. Just the right amount of sparkle and true to size.

“I am HS 10 and they fitted perfectly. I am 5ft 1 and the length is perfect for me, just at the ankle. The price for these trousers is outstanding, as other similar trousers cost twice as much and are not as beautiful and sparkly as these. Sparkle is so subtle, they are not only for Christmas. Would definitely recommend.”
