Remote beach with crystal clear waters and sea cave dubbed ‘UK’s best’ | UK | Travel

Nanjizal Bay Beach, a hidden gem in St Levan, Cornwall, also fondly known as Mill Bay, has taken TikTok by storm, earning the accolade of “UK’s best beach” from awed visitors. Celebrated for its pristine natural allure and crystalline waters, the beach features the grand, scenic cliff-top walk from Lands End.

A viral TikTok video showcasing the beach has more than 290,000 views and 27,000 likes. The TikTok captioned the video: “POV, you found the best beach in the UK.” One commenter wrote: “Surely not in the UK?” While another said that whenever they went to the beach, it felt like they were “abroad”.

Not only is Nanjizal prized for its strikingly blue water, but it also houses the “Song of the Sea” cave, which encompasses two natural pools, Big and Little Muzzan, which are hot spots for swimming enthusiasts.

Drawing its name from the Cornish moniker “Porth Nansusel,” which translates to “Cove of the Howling Valley,” the secluded spot is not just a hit with tourists but also a haven for bird watchers due to its designation as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Adding to its unique charm, the beach is home to the iconic “Diamond Horse” rock formation, locally known as Zawn Pyg.

TripAdvisor users have lavished praise on a beach’s “beautiful turquoise water and white sand”, lauding its “clear pools to splash around in.”

The journey to this coastal gem was described as “glorious,” with stunning panoramas that allowed visitors to soak up the “peace and tranquillity” of the untouched shoreline.

Due to its seclusion, the beach operates without lifeguards, prompting advisories for swimmers to exercise caution due to changing tides and conditions.

Dog owners are also drawn to the spot as their furry friends are allowed to roam freely throughout the year.
