Red Arrows to fly over England this weekend – full list of areas | UK | News

People across the Midlands and some of north-west England could get to see the Red Arrows on Sunday. The RAF aerobatic team are taking part in the RAF Cosford Air Show in Shropshire but those not attending could still get to see a glimpse of the iconic red jets.

Details of the Red Arrows‘ flight map to and from the popular air show has been released, giving people a chance — depending on the sky conditions — to see them on their travels. The team is expected to arrive at Liverpool Airport from RAF Lossiemouth in Moray, Scotland, on Saturday ahead of the display on Sunday, according to military-airshows.co.uk. The team is expected to depart the airport at 2:59pm to make its way towards the airshow.

The Red Arrows are expected to travel south, north-east of Chester and near Natwich, Eccleshall, Newport and Telford before arriving at Cosford for their thrilling display.

Once the hair-raising performance is over, the team in their Hawk T1 jets will head for their home base of RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire.

The Red Arrows are expected to be north-east of Brewood at 3:34pm, before passing near Uttoxeter and Sutton-on-Trent on their way to Waddington at 3:45pm.

The timings and route could be subject to change due to weather or other requirements, said military-airshows.co.uk who shared the times and a map of the expected route (above).

All Red Arrows display pilots have flown operationally, in frontline aircraft like the Typhoon fighter jet.

Last year, the team celebrated its 60th display season and completed a tour across Canada.

Tickets to the annual RAF Cosford Air Show have sold out.

Display teams and military aircraft past and present will take part.

This includes the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, made up of Second World War-era aircraft, the RAF’s Typhoon display team and the Polish air force’s F-16 demo team.

The theme for this year’s event is ‘Commemorate, Celebrate, Innovate’.
