This Easter, London’s Battersea Power Station has become home to priceless treasures from thousands of years ago in Ramses and The Pharaohs’ Gold. Families can travel 3,000 years back in time at Neon to step into the world of Ramses II, who reigned over Ancient Egypt from 1279–1213 BC. With 180 stunning treasures to inspect and see in the flesh, Ramses and the Pharaohs’ Gold also invited mini-explorers to do some digging of their own in a newly-designed experience.

The event includes The Pharaoh’s Quest, a brand-new, “high-tech digital scavenger hunt” designed especially for children to experience what it might have been like to discover the ancient treasures of a forgotten world. After that, an “immersive virtual reality experience” sends budding historians to extraordinary digsites, including the Tomb of Queen Nefertari and the monumental Abu Simbel temples; all of which have been recreated in VR in a spectacular and digitally-impressive amount of detail.

On this adventure, families and groups can choose one of three character guides to help them uncover clues in order to complete their mission. Along the way, their visit will be transformed into an “interactive adventure through history”.

The fun, learning, and intrigue goes on even further this Easter, as families can get stretch their crafty bones with the expansive and collaborative colour-in wall. Here, visitors can “help create a communal piece of artwork inspired by the world of the pharaohs”.

And there are “special easter prizes” to win along the way, as well.

This, of course, isn’t the only child-friendly experience taking place this Easter.

Egyptologists can also enjoy Cleopatra: The Experience, which is at London’s ExCel Centre this Easter. Here, fans can discover the secrets of Egypt’s last Queen, her legacy, love, lifestyle & beauty.

Otherwise, for the even more ancient history-lovers, there’s the Vikings: The Immersive Experience, which combines “interactive immersive technology, huge installations and replica artefacts” in order to transport attendees directly to the golden age of the Vikings.

For parents, guardians and those without kids, there’s still lots to see and do at the Ramses and The Pharaohs’ Gold experience this Easter.

Among the 180 artefacts included in the exhibition are ornately carved sarcophagi, mummified animals, resplendent jewellery, royal masks and elaborate amulets.

Many of these objects have never before left Egypt, meaning it is a real exclusive experience for artefact aficionados.

On top of that, there are “immersive” galleries and storytelling dotted throughout the story of King Ramses II.
