Next’s new £45 beauty box is worth over £231

It goes without saying that winter can be tough on skin, but choosing the right products can make a world of difference in banishing dullness and leaving you feeling fresher. If you’re looking to treat yourself or a loved one to some new beauty treats, you can save over £150 on a new wellness-focused beauty box from Next that’s packed with goodies to help you look and feel better.

The Wellness Club Studio beauty box contains eight products from top brands like Elizabeth Arden, Liz Earle and Olaplex, said to be collectively worth over £231, but shoppers get it for £45. This means the box helps save 80% compared to buying all the products individually.

Inside, you’ll find a great selection of products, including skincare, makeup, haircare, and fragrance goodies. There’s a mix of classic products and new favourites to try, and six of the eight come in full sizes. The set also includes a tote bag from Next’s brand Friends Like These, which can be very useful for everything from trips to the gym to shopping.

This set, which was put together in collaboration with TOWIE’s Lucy Mecklenburgh, is perfect for those in need of a little pick-me-up, and since the products inside aren’t particularly aimed at one age group or specific skin concern, it will be easy to gift.

One of the classic products in the box is Liz Earle’s Cleanse and Polish starter kit, which features the brand’s hot cloth cleanser and a cloth to use with it. The cleanser is made with rosemary, chamomile, and cocoa butter, and is designed to cleanse skin without stripping its natural oils. The cloth gently exfoliates, while the cleanser promises to remove makeup and leave skin feeling fresh. At the same time, the creamy texture is said to keep skin feeling soft.

There is also a full-size, 50ml tube of Multivitamin Power Recovery Cream from Dermalogica, which normally retails for £92 on its own. Formulated with vitamins A, C and E, along with a peptide complex and safflower oil, the cream is designed to help repair the skin barrier and protect it from damaging pollutants. It claims to help reduce fine lines and signs of dehydration, helping skin appear fresh and glowy.

A Dermalogica customer said it’s great for the winter weather, writing: “I’ve been using this cream through the cold weather, and my skin has stayed so hydrated—no dryness or flakiness at all! The texture is rich but not heavy, and it melts in beautifully.”

Another classic included in the set that will be a great help for winter-ravaged skin is Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream, a multi-use product that can be used on the face, body and hands. The petrolatum-based formula contains vitamin E and is designed to offer deep hydration and protection to the skin. The versatile formula is great for cracked hands, dry spots like elbows and knees, and the brand says it can also be used to shape brows or add a highlight to cheeks. This one comes in a 30ml tube, which is great for keeping in your handbag for emergencies.

A fan’s review on LookFantastic said: “I  have so many uses for this. I apply it to my face overnight, use it on my hands, cuticles, lips, etc. Nothing moisturises and softens like this.”

Proper hand care should include nail care, and the set also includes a nourishing treatment from cult nail care brand Manucurist. The Active Glow Polish, included here in the shade Raspberry, is a two-in-one treatment with sweet almond oil and raspberry extracts that promises to hydrate and nourish nails while adding a subtle shine.

Shoppers should note that this is not intended to be a full-coverage nail varnish, so it’s not intensely pigmented. As one shopper put it, it’s “really great for those ‘no nail polish’ days.”

Another said: “It lasts a long time, dries fairly quickly, and gives a very natural, clean-nail look. The finish is glossy and enhances the natural nail colour beautifully. It’s perfect for everyday wear if you don’t want to do your nails too often or are taking a break from shellac”.

Some subtle makeup touches can help you achieve a natural glow, and the box includes two multi-use products to help. One is Iconic London’s Prep Set Blur Setting Spray in the shade Gold. The spray is an all-rounder, and can be used under makeup to add a subtle shimmer to skin, or over makeup to lock it in place.

It’s made with an antioxidant blend of green tea and vitamin E to protect the skin, and cucumber extract and chamomile to soothe and cool. It also contains caffeine to help boost your complexion. The brand says it can help set, blur and mattify your makeup, while the fine shimmer pigment adds a subtle highlight.

A fan of the product wrote: “Works brilliantly at setting your look, especially for work days when you want to tone down the shimmer. Works really well for a blurring effect for online meetings too!”

For a wash of colour, you can use the Dr PawPaw tinted lip balm in the shade Peach. It’s made with pawpaw fruit, aloe vera and olive oil to soothe and nourish chapped lips, but the brand says it can also help brighten cheeks and add some colour to eyes, too.

Not leaving hair out, the set contains a bottle of the No.7 Bonding Oil from Olaplex. It’s great for those who use a lot of hot tools, as it’s designed to protect and strengthen hair, helping make it shinier and softer while taming frizz and flyaways.

Perfume is the perfect finishing touch, and shoppers can choose between two lovely Floral Street eau de parfums for their 10ml mini spray. The choices are the fruity Sweet Almond Blossomwith notes of pink pomelo, vanilla, apple blossom and tonka bean, and the sweeter Wonderland Peony, with notes of fresh peony, pink pepper, blackcurrant and candy floss.

As fragrance can be very personal, the chance to try a new scent for less is exciting, especially considering the same 10ml spray normally costs £29. At the same time, it can be a risk without sampling the scents in advance, so shoppers who are unsure could try them in-store first.
