Newsmax was halted for a breaking announcement about US President Donald Trump today. House Speaker Mike Johnson appeared on the programme to warn that the Midterms humiliation could spark the “end of the Trump presidency.” Johnson told viewers: “He needs all four years to fix the mess, not just two, and that’s what we need. If we lost the midterms – heavens forbid. If we lost the majority in the House, it would be the end of the Trump presidency in real effect, so we have to keep this going, and we are excited to put our candidates on the field.” He added that the President needs a full term to “fix the mess” he alleged he’d inherited from President Joe Biden before adding: “So we’ve got to keep this going.”

Johnson’s warning comes as the US leader continues to dip in the polls, and talk of invoking the 25th Amendment continues to gain momentum.

Many Democrats have called for the Amendment to be invoked to remove Trump from office. However, this could lead to impeachment and a slight chance of the President being removed from office.

Johnson said earlier this week that Democrats who heckled Trump during the State of the Union “brought shame upon their party and upon themselves”.

“I mean, the antics were outrageous,” Johnson said. “I came about this close from banging the gavel and having them escorted off the floor.

“But the president handled it very well. And I thought, you know, let them put that on display.”
