Netflix film releases in 2026 from Peaky Blinders to Narnia reboot | Films | Entertainment
The past year witnessed a slew of blockbuster sequels and major film releases making their way to Netflix.
The streaming giant’s 2025 line-up featured eagerly anticipated sequels such as the follow-up to Adam Sandler’s iconic Happy Gilmore, and the third chapter in Rian Johnson’s Knives Out series.
Viewers were also treated to potential Oscar contenders like Train Dreams, Frankenstein, and Ballad of A Small Player.
As we move into 2026, it seems we can expect more of the same with a host of anticipated films set to debut. While some titles are still awaiting confirmed release dates, they’re all slated to arrive within the coming year.
This includes the much-anticipated return of massive franchises and collaborations between some of Hollywood‘s biggest stars. Here’s what you can look forward to in 2026.
The Rip.
Kicking off the year is The Rip, a must-watch Netflix film that reunites Matt Damon and Ben Affleck on screen. The plot revolves around a group of Miami cops who stumble upon millions in cash in an abandoned stash house, leading to a breakdown of trust within the team , reports the Mirror.
As word about the size of the haul gets out, everything comes under scrutiny – including who they can trust. Writer-director Joe Carnahan has already given viewers a taste of what to expect.
He revealed to website Tudum: “The Rip came out of a deeply personal experience that my friend went through, both as a father and as head of tactical narcotics for the Miami Dade police department. It’s inspired in part by his life and then, by my enduring love for those classic ’70’s cop thrillers that really valued the character and interpersonal relationships and became touchstones of that era – films like Serpico and Prince of The City and more recently, Michael Mann’s Heat.”
The Rip is streaming on Netflix from January 16.
Peaky Blinders The Immortal Man.
2026 will also mark the year Netflix audiences return to Birmingham, 1940, reuniting with Tommy Shelby once more. Against the backdrop of WWII turmoil, he emerges from self-imposed exile to confront his most devastating reckoning to date.
With both family and nation hanging in the balance, Tommy must battle his inner demons whilst deciding whether to face his legacy head-on or destroy it completely. Oscar-winning actor Cillian Murphy reprises his iconic role in what pledges to be a spectacular feature film helmed by Tom Harper and penned by Steven Knight.
The ensemble cast features Rebecca Ferguson (Dune, A House of Dynamite), Tim Roth (Reservoir Dogs, The Hateful Eight), Sophie Rundle (After the Flood, Gentleman Jack) alongside Barry Keoghan (Saltburn, The Banshees of Inisherin) and Stephen Graham (Adolescence, Boiling Point).
