Meghan Markle has been called out by fans for “acting like trash” over announcing the end of her partnership with Netflix. On Friday night, both the Duchess of Sussex and the streaming giant announced they’re ending their partnership for As Ever.
Netflix‘s statement said: “Meghan’s passion for elevating everyday moments in beautiful yet simple ways inspired the creation of the As Ever brand, and we are glad to have played a role in bringing that vision to life. As it was always intended, Meghan will continue growing the brand and take it into its next chapter independently, and we look forward to celebrating how she continues to bring joy to households around the world.”
Meanwhile, Meghan’s spokesperson said that the brand was “ready to stand on its own”, with a statement reading: “As Ever is grateful for Netflix’s partnership through launch and our first year.

“We have experienced meaningful and rapid growth, and As Ever is now ready to stand on its own. We have an exciting year ahead and can’t wait to share more.”
But some fans did not like how the Duchess announced the end of her partnership with Netflix and took to social media to express their views.
One user wrote on X: “Netflix signed off with class. Rachel [Meghan’s name in Suits] chose to act like trash.
“It reminds me of how she thought Spotify was holding her back, and then went to a platform no one heard of and got dumped even by them.”
Another one noted: “’We’ve experienced meaningful and rapid growth, and that’s why Netflix dumped us.’ Yes, cuz that’s how Netflix makes its money, by being a charity, and sinking millions into advertising a start-up, then cut ties when the start-up starts making money right?”
A third one said: “Well trash is her actual mo [modus operandi].”

A fourth one joked: “Remember how the brand name American Riviera Orchard was too limiting?” with a laughing face emoji.
A fifth one added: “Polarising lifestyle brand. More word salad.”
A sixth one said: “Meghan lives in a fantasy world with an enormous ego. She has done everything wrong. Her best bet is to hide and live a quiet life.”
The first series of With Love, Meghan launched on Netflix in March 2025 and coincided with the unveiling of As ever, with her first products, including her raspberry jam, repeatedly promoted throughout the show.
Among the products on the firm’s website are honey and tea sets, jam sets and a candle for $64 (£48).
Figures showed earlier this year that the Duchess’s Netflix show failed to crack the top 1,000 most-watched programmes on the platform.
The second instalment of With Love, Meghan was the 1,124th most-watched show between July and December 2025, with two million views, according to data released by Netflix.
