Marks and Spencer’s winter coat gets rare reduction in winter sale

Shoppers looking to upgrade their winter wardrobe are snapping up a Marks and Spencer coat that fans say ‘ticks every box’ for warmth, comfort and style – and it now has a rare price drop in the retailer’s winter sale. The Thermowarmth Puffer Coat is down to £80 from £100 on the site, offering shoppers 20% off.

The coat which ‘fits true to size’ is available in sizes six to 24 and the colours midnight navy or caramel. Crafted for cold weather comfort, this longline jacket delivers both warmth and style.

Part of the brand’s Thermowarmth collection, it’s designed with lightweight yet effective insulation to keep shoppers cosy without the bulk, while the Stormwear technology helps to shield from unexpected showers. A drawstring waist adds a flattering shape to the regular fit silhouette, complemented by a high collar and a faux fur trimmed hood for extra protection on chilly days.

Adjustable cuffs help lock in heat, making it a reliable go-to for winter walks, commutes or weekend errands. Next also has its Khaki Green Shower Resistant Padded Hooded Coat available for £65, which comes in three other colours too: black, burgundy and navy.

This coat is available in sizes 4 to 20 in the petite fit, and 6 to 26 in the regular, and is made from 100% polyester. For those going for more stylish buys, there is also the Black Single Button Lined Coat available for £37.49 from New Look and it is available in sizes 6 to 22. This single-breasted coat comes with a button at the front and it is long length.

The M&S coat has been rated a high 4.5 out of five stars on the website, however. One person said: “This coat is everything I want and need in a warm winter coat. It looks smart, is stylish, warm, comfortable and well made. I wear it with trousers or a skirt and it looks good. I like the knee length, appropriate number of pockets and the fur trim on the hood.”

Another wrote: “I like the shape and length of the coat. It is very warm and cosy. Great value compared to designer brands.”A third shopper commented: “Perfect for a jacket for heavy rain and will be nice and warm too.”

Some others took a star off, with one saying: “Lovely warm coat. Good length and arm length too. The collar is detachable but not the hood which would have been more convenient.”

Another said: “Cosy and nice-looking coat. I really like the side pockets. My only reservation is the zip. The coat is nice and long but this makes it tricky to do the zip up. It’s a price worth paying for the extra warmth but the zip itself is a bit “sticky” which might improve with wear or get worse. But the sale price makes this issue liveable with.”
