Man Utd star almost suffers career suicide and hid behind his team-mates | Football | Sport

Benjamin Sesko would have let Andre Onana take a penalty before him if it would not have been career suicide. The £74million man had a stinker against League Two defenders and then hid behind his own centre-halves during the shootout, taking the 10th of 11 spot kicks.

Manchester United were disjointed and it all started with their cowardly striker. Nothing stuck at the top end of the field. He attempted 11 passes in 90 minutes. Eleven. And four of those didn’t even find a team-mate!

Perhaps more worryingly, Sesko lost possession 10 times. When you’re up against it, you need your attackers more than ever. It’s their job to alleviate the pressure.

This was not Premier League opposition. The pitch was not in poor condition. This should have been a soft launch of the 22-year-old in English football.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe will be hoping he kept the receipt after watching that display.

Ryder Cup common sense

Common sense prevailed: Keegan Bradley should never have even thought about picking himself for the US Ryder Cup team.

Nobody has done it since Arnold Palmer in 1963 – and for good reason. His responsibilities are already huge, and the Ryder Cup is too big for mistakes like this.

West Ham blame

If there is one player West Ham fans cannot question the commitment of, it’s Jarrod Bowen.

Like Mark Noble before him, the forward is Mr West Ham.

The ugly scenes of supporters hitting out at their captain on Wednesday night shows what mess the club is in – even the fans can’t figure out where the blame lies.
