Man Utd receive ‘dream’ transfer plea from Crystal Palace star | Football | Sport

Manchester United have received a transfer plea from Daniel Munoz, with the Crystal Palace right-back admitting it would be a “dream” to play for the Red Devils. Ruben Amorim’s side have enjoyed an upturn in fortunes in recent weeks, but could delve into the transfer market once again in January after signing the likes of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko in the summer.

Munoz has become a Premier League star since joining Palace from Genk at the start of last year. The 29-year-old is known for his high-energy performances and is often one of Palace’s most attacking players during matches, despite the fact that he plays on the right flank. He has appeared 81 times for the Eagles and has bagged eight goals and 14 assists for the team.

Munoz is currently on international duty with Colombia, with his country hosting New Zealand in a friendly on Saturday night, before another friendly clash with Australia in midweek.

And ahead of those matches, AS Colombia have reported that he has namedropped a number of top clubs he would like to play for.

“First of all, I think there’s a lot of talk about one club or another,” Munoz explained. “If you ask me, it would be a dream to play for one of these clubs, whether it’s Barcelona, PSG, Real Madrid, or Manchester United.

“I think I’m working towards that. I strive every day to one day attract the attention of one of these clubs because, for me, it’s a dream to get there.”

He then added: “If you ask me, I don’t have concrete information any of these clubs are interested in me. My focus is on Crystal Palace. We’ll see when the winter transfer window gets closer.”

Munoz’ contract at Selhurst Park doesn’t expire until the summer of 2028, by which time he will be 32.

But Colombian outlet Semana have run a report, which suggests the talented player could get a move well before then.

The report indicates that there have been informal conversations with people from Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Chelsea. But there has been no formal proposal by Munoz, with the January transfer window described as crucial for the player.

Munoz has won 42 caps for Colombia after making his international debut in a World Cup qualifier against Peru in 2021.

And following his international endeavours over the coming days, the player will return to England in time for Palace’s Premier League showdown with Wolves next Saturday. The Eagles are currently 10th in the table after winning four of their 11 league matches this term.
