Man Utd get rare Premier League rarity as fixture changes and TV picks confirmed | Football | Sport
Manchester United have been handed a rare 3pm kick-off – their first of 2026 – as the Premier League confirmed the latest round of TV picks and fixture changes for the 36th gameweek of the season. United’s trip to the Stadium of Light to Sunderland will remain a Saturday mid-afternoon fixture, with the Red Devils having become accustomed to Friday or Monday night matches this season.
The bad news for United fans is that means their game at Sunderland is subject to the 3pm TV blackout in the UK. While five of the weekend’s 10 games are selected for broadcast, Michael Carrick’s men are not among the teams on TV. It is the first time since October 29’s trip to Nottingham Forest – which ended in a 2-2 draw – that a United Premier League match has not been broadcast live.
Instead, Liverpool hosting Chelsea is selected as the first game of the weekend on TNT Sports. The midday match at Anfield is subject to further change if the Reds progress in the UEFA Champions League. They face Paris Saint-Germain over two legs in the quarter-finals, with the French club having thrashed Chelsea 8-2 in the previous round.
The evening kick-off sees title-chasing Man City host Brentford on Sky Sports, while the same channel’s Sunday offering includes two relegation-battling teams – Nottingham Forest and West Ham – at home to Newcastle and Arsenal respectively. The relegation six-pointer between Tottenham and Leeds will be shown by Sky on Monday night.
The dates and kick-off times for match-week 37 will be announced on April 8 while the TV picks for match-day 38, when all 10 games take place at 4pm on Sunday May 24, will be confirmed after the penultimate weekend of the campaign.
