Drivers on a major motorway are facing huge delays after two cars collided. The M1 in Hertfordshire is closed northbound between J8 (Hemel Hempstead) and J9 (for Dunstable) with emergency services responding to the scene.

National Highways said: “Emergency services including Hertfordshire Police are in attendance. National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene providing assistance with traffic management.”
