Luke Litter makes major change in match as Gerwyn Price ends streak | Other | Sport
Luke Littler has crashed out of the Bahrain Darts Masters 2026 after falling to defeat against Gerwyn Price 6-2. The Nuke made a switch from his new Target darts back to his old faithfuls, but to no avail, as he was unable to turn things around.
The Iceman rattled off five legs on the bounce to ensure Littler could not catch him and took a dominant victory. Littler recently secured a record-breaking £20million deal with his dart supplier, Target, after renewing his terms. It is set to be the most profitable in the history of the sport.
Littler was less convincing with the arrows in his second outing on Friday afternoon. A slow start and an early break of throw, saw the youngster swap out his darts after heading back to his table to claim his more traditional setup.
Defeat means Littler waves farewell to a £30,000 prize that was on offer at the Bahrain Darts Masters, out of an overall £100,000 prize pot.
Littler had taken the first leg against Price, after the Welshman missed out on a break after being unable to take out double one. Price was relentless from there and rattled off the next five legs, taking out 112 and 115 on his way.
Littler then held his own throw to pull one back, but could not prevent his opponent claiming victory on his own throw. Price is joined by Michael van Gerwen in one semi-final after he dispatched Stephen Bunting 6-4 to put out last year’s champion, who missed 16 doubles.
Nathan Aspinal takes on Luke Humphries and World Darts Championship runner-up Gian van Veen takes on Danny Noppert in the remaining quarters.
