The 23-year-old has dazzled on occasion at Paris Saint-Germain, but has found getting into the starting XI ahead of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele difficult at times. The six-time European champions have been mentioned in conversations surrounding a Barcola transfer in the past, and maybe now, with Salah heading for the exit door, they’ll spring a move. A fee of £86million was mooted last summer when Barcola was tipped to leave, with PSG likely to ask for something similar this time around.

There’s a real French feel to this list, but Maghnes Akliouche deserves a mention just as much as anyone. He’s perhaps a little less established than his compatriots, but talent-wise, the Monaco man is right up there. This season has been somewhat of a breakout year for the 24-year-old, who has come into his own at the Ligue 1 outfit. The pros of signing Akliouche compared to his counterparts is the cost of the transfer will likely be much cheaper, not least because he only has two years left on his Monaco contract.

And finally, a player who already knows the Premier League very well. In a different universe, Anthony Gordon might already be a Liverpool player, having been heavily linked to a move during Euro 2024. Obviously, it didn’t transpire, but with Newcastle having plateaued in the years since, and Gordon entering the prime years of his career, the stars might finally align for the boyhood Liverpudlian.
