Armed police have rushed to a street in Toxteth, Liverpool, this afternoon, with several other police vehicles at the scene. Merseyside Police cordoned off Ritson Street by Lodge Lane and remain in attendance, along with several police vehicles. 

The officers on scene are believed to be force negotiators, the Liverpool Echo reports. Police confirmed they were responding to an “ongoing incident”, a force incident manager said, though it is currently unclear what the incident is.
