LaGuardia plane crash: New York airport shut down as Air Canada ‘pilot and co-pilot die’ | World | News
A pilot and co-pilot have been killed after an Air Canada passenger plane collided with a fire truck on a runway at LaGuardia airport in New York, nNBC News reports. The Federal Aviation Administration says the aircraft involved was a Bombardier CRJ-900 twin-jet aircraft.
It was arriving from Montreal and slowed down to about 24mph when it collided with a vehicle from the the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which runs the airport. The collision happened on Runway 4 at LaGuardia airport late last night. A spokesperson for the New York City Fire Department said firefighters responded to reports of a plane that crashed into a vehicle on the runway at 11:38pm.
