King Charles changes tack on Prince Harry and Meghan as he ‘hopes for their success’ | Royal | News
King Charles is hoping Meghan Markle has success in her upcoming Netflix series, royal insiders have revealed.
Despite the fact Meghan, 43, and Prince Harry, 40, have been critical of aspects of royal life since they quit and moved overseas in 2020, the monarch, 76, is reportedly hoping his son and daughter-in-law continue to achieve in their business ventures out in America.
Richard Eden wrote in The Daily Mail: “Courtiers tell me that members of the Royal Family actually hope the American duchess’s eight-part series will be a hit when it is released.
“Everyone wants it to be a success. And that’s because, if it is, she and Harry won’t need to exploit their royal connections again.”
The King has never spoken negatively about the couple publicly and is believed to still be on speaking terms with Harry.
It is believed the monarch last saw Harry in February 2024 after it was revealed the King had been diagnosed with cancer.
Despite the fact the Duke of Sussex has visited the UK multiple times since he has not had another meeting with his father.
Meghan is also not believed to have seen the King for over two years, with her last visit to the UK being in September 2022 for the late Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.
She did not accompany her husband to the King’s Coronation in 2023.
While the monarch may not see his son frequently in person, they are believed to have phone calls, especially on birthdays.
The King also publicly wished Harry a Happy 40th birthday in September last year on official Royal Family social media accounts.
It is not known when they are next expected to see one another.
