Jamie Carragher sent home by CBS Sports midway through show | Football | Sport
Jamie Carragher left the CBS Sports studio early last night after falling ill during their live Champions League coverage. The pundit was on duty for the game between Atletico and Real Madrid, which Carlo Ancelotti’s side won on penalties.
Alongside Thierry Henry and Micah Richards, Carragher had been in full voice before the game as he questioned whether Diego Simeone’s side had the mentality to beat their arch-rivals. However, he was then missing when the trio analysed the result with presenter Kate Scott.
“Can we first tell you what’s up with Jamie Carragher,” said Scott, after the coverage returned to the studio with his chair empty. “Our friend, usually at the desk with us, he wasn’t feeling well tonight.
“So we did send him home to watch the second half from there. He has since posted on IG (Instagram) though, he’s back in action.”
Scott then read out Carragher’s message, which read: “Feeling better now and just checking if the team can cope without me.” He also added a laughter emoji but his colleagues then joked he must be breaking the law to watch CBS, which isn’t available to UK viewers.
“Well how’s he watching that?” asked Richards, to which Scott replied: “Dodgy box Micah. Where do we send the authorities to?” The ex-Manchester City man continued the jibe with: “Straight to his house. We got his address.”
Richards then appeared to take aim at Carragher’s use of hygiene products, saying: “I think it’s better (without him). The flow is nicer, the air is cleaner. Thierry, have you smelt anything tonight?”
