Iran ambassador’s four-word warning to UK after US attacks | UK | News

The consequences of Donald Trump’s decision to authorise the US to bomb Iran over the weekend are being felt across the globe, with the UK left ‘reeling’ as Keir Starmer and company scramble to decide on the best course of action going forward.

Tensions between the Iranian regime and Israel had showed no sign of simmering in recent weeks and months, but the situation almost irreversibly reached boiling point on Saturday as the President rubber-stamped a missile attack on three nuclear sites.

In the early hours of the morning, Trump hailed the operation a “spectacular military success” as part of a national address where he was flanked by Vice President, JD Vance, as well as Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

But the ramifications felt overseas, more notably on British shores, could not be more understated.

The Iranian ambassador to the UK, Seyed Ali Mousavi, has issued a worrying warning to all of the States’ allies, including Britain.

After being asked by a Sky News reporter whether Iran had any plans in retaliation to the attacks, Ali Mousavi had a chilling four-word response.

“Everything is under consideration,” he said as he strutted down a London street.

When asked to clarify his response, the representative added: “According to our mutual benefits and interests, you are going to consider all of the matters. It is being monitored by the Iranian authorities.”

Fears are growing beyond stateside of the potential consequences of such an action, with Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, accusing the US of crossing “a very big red line” and how they will be “solely and fully responsible” for whatever happens next.

Speaking during a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul on Sunday, just hours after Trump’s announcement of the military operation in the Middle East, he warned: “It is an outrageous, grave and unprecedented violation of the fundamental principles of the Charter of the United Nations and international law.

“The US military attack on the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of a UN member state carried out in collusion with the genocidal Israeli regime has once again revealed the extent of the United States’ hostility towards the peace-seeking people of Iran. We will never compromise on their independence and sovereignty

“The Islamic Republic of Iran continues to defend Iran’s territory, sovereignty, and people by all means necessary against not just US military aggression, but also the reckless and unlawful actions of the Israeli regime.”

Speaking at the Pentagon, Hegseth insisted the mission was “not and has never been about regime change”, describing it instead as “a precision operation” aimed squarely at dismantling Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

In a separate interview on NBC’s Meet the Press, Senator Vance echoed that position, saying the United States had made its stance clear: “We do not seek regime change.

“We’re not looking to escalate or prolong this any further than necessary,” he said.

“The goal is to end Iran’s nuclear ambitions, and then engage in talks toward a long-term resolution.” Vance also emphasised that Washington has “no interest in putting boots on the ground.”
