‘Insanely comfortable’ Roman trousers that ‘balance’ shape are £26

Trousers that are both comfortable and flattering are a wardrobe necessity. Even better if they feature an elasticated waistband that means it’s easy to go from desk to dinner in no time. And one pair of trousers from Roman seems to do the trick with its stretchy design.

The Full Length Bootcut Elastic Waist Trousers boasts a 76% viscose, 21% polyamide and 3% elastane makeup and are hailed, on the website as: “A boot cut full length version of everyone’s favourite stretch trouser, these are a definite wardrobe staple.

“These soft, flared trousers fit to you, while remaining extremely comfortable and flattering with an elasticated waistband. These are perfect for desk to dinner dressing and can be worn with a blazer for work or blouse and heels for a night out.”

The trousers measure at 78cm in length, meaning they may not be as suitable for petite statures – although the brand has its Black Petite Premium Stretch Flare Trouser, which may do the job.

The Full Length Bootcut Elastic Waist Trousers suit both professional settings and leisurewear by simply switching up the top. For an alternative choice, M&S is currently stocking these Jersey Elasticated Waist Flared Trousers for £23 with an elasticated high-rise waist.

Boden also has an alternative design in its Pull-on Double Cloth Trousers, which cost £69 and are characterised as ‘the perfect everyday trousers’.

Although Roman’s bootcut trousers have certainly been a hit with fashion fans, highlighted by its 4.9 star rating. One happy customer raved: “These are possibly the most comfortable trousers I have ever bought.

“I favour a bootcut fit and used to buy from a chain store until they stopped stocking them. However, I was forever having to stitch up the hem around the ankles. Not so with these as the stitching is excellent. They are also a very comfy fit around the waist, with no buttons or zips to faff around with. Fit is true to size. I like these so much I will be buying some more in different colours,” reports the Liverpool Echo.

Another shopper stated: “Really looks nice. Balances out my top heavy bust. Material is good. True to size.”

Someone else commented: “So very comfortable. A change from straight leg trousers. Lovely quality and fit. Being 5’2 I always have to turn trousers up. But to be honest this fabric is great to work with. Very pleased with them. Highly recommend.”

The only gripe with the Roman trousers is that some customers had was that they wished there was more colour options. They stated: “Smart and comfortable, I wish there were more colour choices so I could order more.”
