Now, in a YouTube short posted on August 7, Harry has revealed his list of the ‘top 5 most underrated countries in the world’.
Eritrea
Coming in at number five is Eritrea. Describing the country, Harry says: “It’s a country I went to recently. It’s safe to go to for tourism. They’ve just opened up. Probably the safest country in Africa. People speak great English, it’s very clean. Honestly, if you’re looking to go to Africa and you want to start off east, I’d recommend Eritrea.”
Papua New Guinea
At number four on Harry’s list is Papua New Guinea. The travel content creator says: “The next country that I really really enjoyed is Papua New Guinea. The Papua New Guineans are some of the most friendly people I’ve ever met. It gets a very bad reputation because there’s a lot of tribal warfare – but they want tourism to come.”
Lebanon
Next up on Harry’s list of the top five most underrated countries in the world is Lebanon. Harry shares: “People ask me what’s my favourite thing about Lebanon and it’s everything. It’s the people, it’s the night life, it’s the food, it’s the weather.”
Fiji
The “unique” country bagging the number two spot for Harry is Fiji. “Bit of a unique one – I’d say Fiji. The main thing for me about Fiji was the locals,” shares the traveller, adding, “The locals are very, very friendly. I didn’t expect them to be so friendly.”
Shedding further insight into the underrated country and its locals, Harry says: “They’re [the locals] all very tall and very big. They’re just like friendly giants.”
Moldova
Taking the coveted number one spot on Harry’s list is Moldova. The YouTuber shares: “The final country – Moldova. It’s got character.”
Moldova is an Eastern European country and was part of the former Soviet republic, having declared independence as a nation in 1991. The country is famous for its wine regions such as Nistreana, known for reds, and Codru, which is home to some of the world’s largest cellars.
As a relatively lesser-known tourist destination, Moldova is ideal for those looking to explore an off-the-beaten-path destination and seeking a less-crowded European experience.
