‘I almost left my partner after he did inexcusable thing at airport’
Many people will find going to an airport to be a stressful situation, as there are so many things that could possibly go wrong between you and getting to your holiday destination.
Whether you find that someone in your travel group have forgotten their passport, or your flight keeps getting delayed, it can be stressful to travel to your holiday.
However, despite how stressful it might get, one unwritten rule says to always keep the travel group together, unless you have previously planned otherwise.
Not only will this make sure that everyone in the travel group is accounted for and you’re all together if something were to happen, such as someone not being allowed to board the plane. But it also makes the long hours spent at the airport more fun and bearable.
So when a woman named Elizabeth Anne Schon found her partner had left her in the boarding queue by herself as he instead rushed to get onboard before her, she understandably got upset.
“Men constantly walking five steps ahead is bad… but this made me not want to even board the plane,” she wrote on the TikTok video, which has been viewed over 7.9 million times.
In the video, Elizabeth showed how her partner had walked away from her in order to get to the boarding gate as soon as possible, leaving her behind to wait in the long queue of people to board the same plane.
“I almost turned around,” she added to the caption of the video.
In a follow-up video, Elizabeth explained her partner had insisted they’d join the boarding queue, even though their zone number hadn’t been called yet, which she had pointed out to him before going to the bathroom.
As she got back to the gate, she found her partner had stayed in the queue without her, leaving her to join the long queue by herself as she saw him get the okay to get onboard their plane.
Soon, thousands of people had taken to the comment section of the video to share their thoughts, with many agreeing with Elizabeth as they said they’d too would’ve wanted to leave the airport if it’d happened to them.
“I bet he wouldn’t do that to any of his friends,” one person wrote, while a second said: “I would have let him get on and went home… what kind of vacation would it be with him anyways.”
Another person suggested: “Ask if you can upgrade that ticket. Wave to him from first class and tell him the stewardess upgraded you because she felt bad you were traveling alone.”
“Hey so flying somewhere with your partner is meant to be exciting and full of inside jokes and talking about what food you’re gonna eat,” a fourth viewer said. “Him being 30 people ahead on purpose you need to book separate accommodation and file for divorce before you waste even more of your time.”
However, another person argued: “I’d like to hear both sides of the story. Zero context and roasting online? Red flag.”
