Horror as man wakes up to wife cutting off his penis – she flushed it | World | News

A husband woke up to find his jealous wife severing his penis off in a savage knife-wielding rage.  The horrific attack occurred in a café on Ganghwa Island, South Korea, where the woman carried out a vicious ambush after suspecting her husband of cheating on her. The 58-year-old, identified only as A, has since been convicted of special aggravated bodily harm over the early-morning assault in August 2024.

Court documents disclosed her husband, 50, had been drinking alone in the café and had dozed off when the attack took place, Newsflash reports. Prosecutors stated the woman’s son-in-law, a 40-year-old man identified as B, arrived at the establishment and restrained the victim using rope and industrial tape.

With her husband unable to protect himself, the woman repeatedly stabbed him before using a sharp weapon to cut off his penis. She then destroyed it by flushing it down the cafe toilet – an action that eliminated any possibility of surgeons being able to reattach it, the court was told.

Emergency services subsequently discovered the wounded man and rushed him to hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery and survived. However, doctors stated he was left with permanent physical damage as well as severe psychological trauma, reports

Despite the horror of the attack, the victim later reached a settlement with his wife and formally asked the court to treat her with mercy. Judges stated his request was taken into account when sentencing was passed.

The woman was sentenced to seven years behind bars, whilst her son-in-law was handed a four-year prison term for his part in restraining the victim. Both appeared before the Incheon District Court on separate dates in January.

Police revealed the woman had meticulously orchestrated the assault after becoming convinced her husband was being unfaithful. Investigators also disclosed she had recruited her daughter to assist in monitoring him.

The couple’s daughter was subsequently fined after unlawfully tracking her father using GPS equipment acquired through an unlicensed private investigator. The case has rocked South Korea, with judges describing the assault as exceptionally brutal despite the victim’s appeal for mercy.
