Going on holiday is a wonderful opportunity to take a break from your day-to-day responsibilities and have some fun. And while you may have locations that you love going to, it is always fascinating to see new places and embrace different cultures. While tourist spots are on many people’s bucket lists, sometimes beautiful hidden gems get missed.
This incredible European coastal town is said to be totally worth a visit – and not many people know about it. South of Bordeaux in France, on the coast, lies an incredible seaside spot. Arcachon Bay is situated in Pays de Buch between the Côte d’Argent and the Côte des Landes, in the region of Aquitaine. It offers a combination of breathtaking views, amazing beaches and costal sophistication.
Plus, Arcachon is famous for having the best oysters – there is even an Oyster Festival each summer.
The town offers plenty of outdoor activities from jet skiing to kayaking, renting a bike or an electric scooter. There are many cute independent shops and delightful eateries. People also love visiting the Dune Du Pilat – the tallest sand dune in Europe.
London travel blogger Anna visited the spot and couldn’t get enough.
In a video shared on TikTok, Anna showed off the town’s beauty. She said: “A French coastal town you probably haven’t heard of…but you absolutely have to add to your bucket list…Arcachon.”
She added: “This is such a charming town.”
One other said: “Going in May, we stayed there last year and loved it! PS you can’t take dogs on the beach.” ” I was there a few years ago and it is sooo pretty,” added another.

“If you’re going, stop at the ‘Dune du pilat’. It’s something special,” commented another.
Another visitor wrote: “My favorite place in the entire world, oh how I miss it so much.”
