The new update will be available to download during a period of server downtime, which kicks off at 9am BST UK time. You’ll need to download and install the update before being able to play online.

The news of the server downtime was announced by Epic Games on X, alongside a preview about what to expect.
“Short break now. Fast play later,” reads an Epic Games tweet on X.
“Downtime for v36.10 begins at 4 AM ET with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand.”
As you can see from the tweet below, the big new addition is the launch of a new Battle Royale roguelike mode called Blitz Royale. Described as the perfect game mode for mobile, Blitz Royale is a 32-player Battle Royale mode with new gameplay in every match.
“All opponents start with the same random Medallion or unique weapon on a small map,” reads the official description. “This means everyone has the same advantage!
“Increase your Blitz Level by eliminating opponents and surviving Storm circles. As you level up, get powerful weapons and power-ups. Loot Golden Chests for even more power-ups and Golden Supply Drops for even more Medallions.”
Elsewhere, Epic Games has also announced a new Expedition game mode for LEGO Fortnite, as well as an appearance by Bruno Mars, who is the new Fortnite Festival Season 9 Icon.
A previous Epic Games teaser hints at a new Squid Game crossover, including a Squid Game Reload map.
According to insiders like Shiina, the new update will also add game files for the upcoming mini-event, which will likely coincide with Epic’s summer break.
Needless to say, Epic Games will use the update to make a variety of gameplay tweaks and bug fixes. You can check out the early patch notes below.
