Forget Windows 11, this PC laptop rival is just £150 if you act now
Microsoft’s Windows might be the most used operating system on the planet, but there is another option for those wanting a more simplified experience. Chromebooks offer an easy way to get online, browse the web, send emails, create documents and play games. Anothe bonus is that most devices that are powered by Google’s software are usually more affordable than other PCs, and now there’s an even cheaper way to buy one of these portable gadgets. Amazon has just launched a ‘limited time’ spring sale which includes a Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 Chromebook for just £149.99.
So what do you get for your money?
The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 features a 14-inch display and a sleek design that weighs in at just 1.3 kg. Owners are promised over 13 hours of battery life along with technology such as speedy Wi-Fi 6 for improved access to the web. It also comes with both USB-A and USB-C ports, along with a headphone socket for plugging in wired cans.
This is a Chromebook so there’s easy access to all of Google’s popular apps such as Chrome, Docs and Gmail. Additional applications can also be installed via the Google Play Store.
Of course, this is not a high-end PC suitable for video editing and graphics rendering, but it should be fine for anyone who wants a basic laptop for everyday tasks.
Want something a little more premium?
Apple recently announced the launch of its all-new MacBook Neo, which gets some big features for just £599.
Although that might sound a bit pricey, it’s around £500 less than the very latest MacBook Air. For that lower cost, you get a laptop with a premium metal design, a bright 13-inch screen and a powerful A18 Pro chip.
There’s also a good keyboard and an impressive trackpad, as well as over 15 hours of battery life and dual speaker sound.
You can grab it in a number of colours, including Silver, Blush, Citrus and Indigo.
